Brimfield, MA - On a Saturday in September 1959 auctioneer Gordon Reid held his first outdoor antiques show at "Auction Acres" in Brimfield, Massachusetts. Thus began a phenomenon that today encompasses several miles of US Route 20 three times a year.

The recently concluded 2008 shows saw great crowds, including many European buyers. Savvy antiques collectors and dealers realize that to receive the most value for their time and gas it makes sense to go where they can find the most dealers.

During the past 50 years, the Reid family extravaganzas have attracted buyers and sellers form the US, Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world. The purchases, sales, and connections made have aided in the success of numerous businesses in the antiques industry. Participants throughout the years include many well-known individuals in the world of antiques including the late Wayne Pratt of "Antiques Roadshow", who manned a booth for several years, the Keno twins Leigh and Leslie also of "Antiques Roadshow", who searched the field for bargains while their parents manned the booth, staff members of the auction house Skinner Inc., and many more!

J&J Promotions has also been the show of choice for a number of well-known media outlets. These features included local (Boston Channels 5 and 9), national ("Good Morning America", "Flea Market Finds with the Kovels", Al Roker productions), and international (BCC "Great Antiques Hunt") productions. J&J Promotions has also been featured in print media including Yankee Magazine, Country Journal, and Country Home Magazine as well as hosted the Smithsonian Institute during a two-year study of antiques buying trends.

J&J, now operated by the daughters of the last Gordon Reid, will be celebrating their 50th anniversary throughout 2009 and invite everyone to enjoy the unique "Brimfield Experience" along with them. Be among the first to view the quality of merchandise offered by our exhibitors, most of whom choose J&J as their only show in Brimfield. This is truly a treasure hunt for all ages and the booths are open for the entire two-day show!

The J&J show offers acres of public parking on the show grounds, a well-lit show area, large dealer spaces, clean change rooms, and complete on-site "Catering by Molly's"

New for 2009 - the show will be open Fridays from 8AM-4PM and Saturdays 9AM-4PM. Admission on Saturdays is FREE.

2009 Dates: May 15-16, July 17-18, and September 11-12. Contact Jill or Judy for additional information at 413-245-3436 or 978-597-8155.
