Wachusett Mountain Ski Area's popular wintertime restaurant "The Black Diamond" is expanding its local presence with the opening of a second establishment at the nearby Wachusett Village Inn in Westminster.
"We will be offering the same great menu, food and service which our guests experience during the ski season at the mountain," said Wachusett Mountain Food & Beverage Manager and acting Wachusett Village Inn Manager Tim Emerson. "It was a natural tie-in between the Mountain and the Inn to now be able to offer The Black Diamond on a year-round basis."
The Wachusett Village Inn, which features 74-rooms in a traditional New England country inn, provides a perfect pub-style atmosphere to easily adopt the Black Diamond's famed tavern fare. Offering casual dining, it features a large stone fireplace and large 14-person bar area overlooking the Inn's outdoor pool. The new Black Diamond Restaurant will operate for Lunch every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 5pm and Dinner daily from 5pm to 9pm with a limited bar menu until 10pm weekdays Monday through Thursday and 10pm on weekends with a limited bar menu until 11pm.
The new restaurant format will feature popular winter menu items including the Famous NASTAR Nachos, Wachusett Chili and variety of burgers, wraps and specialty sandwiches. The menu also features comfort food specialties like Mac 'n Cheese and a host of special entrees like Steak Tips; Fettuccini & Chicken; and Marinated Teriyaki Salmon. A complete desert and specialty drink menu is also offered.

The Black Diamond Restaurant will also continue operating at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area through the ski season from December through late March. In addition to The Black Diamond, Wachusett Mountain also offers the Coppertop Lounge, Food Court, Balance Rock Coffee Company and its own complete function catering service in the ski area base lodge. Wachusett Mountain is frequently highlighted by Ski Magazine for offering some of the best ski resort food in eastern United States.
