Worcester Restaurant Week! August 3 - 14

Worcester Restaurant Week will run from August 3 to 14, 2009 and involve almost 50 local restaurants. During that 2-week period, participating restaurants will offer special 3 course meals priced at $20.09

The first two weeks of August are a traditionally slow period in the restaurant industry and this event will serve to give locally owned establishments a boost in sales while allowing diners to sample restaurants that may not typically be on their radar.
 
According to event co-chair Katie Krock of KJ Baaron’s Fine Wine & Spirits, “Diners will be able to dine at some of the area’s finest restaurants during the 2 week period for $20.09 for a prix fixe 3 course meal.”

“This would be a great bargain at any time of year,” said fellow co-chair Michael Covino of the Worcester based Niche Hospitality Group, owner of four of the participating restaurants.
 
The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism, The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Worcester’s two state senators, Harriett Chandler and Michael Moore, have been key supporters of the event.
